You will be very happy. I think if I never took my truck off road (I do a lot) and had no mods (bigger tires armor etc) I would go with medium/spicy. I went with Mild/Medium but then I not looking to burn rubber beating Camaros SS and Dodge Challenger Hell Cats out at traffic lights.

    OTT Tune and Warranty Impact
Based on the search results, here are key findings and insights:
    • Toyota’s stance: Toyota cannot detect OTT tunes unless they investigate the actual requested output from the ECM and compare it to stock. This implies that, in theory, an OTT tune should not void the warranty unless the modification directly causes a problem.
    • Dealer’s burden: If a warranty claim is made, the dealer would need to prove that the OTT tune caused the breakage, rather than the modification itself.
    • Practical experience: Many users on Reddit (r/Tacamaworld) have reported having OTT tunes without issues with their warranty. One user mentioned having an OTT tune during a warranty repair and had no problems.
    • Tuning company statements: Overland Tailor (OTT) and PNW Tuning explicitly state that they make no guarantees or promises that their tuning will uphold the vehicle’s warranty. However, they also mention that many customers have had their trucks serviced at dealerships without warranty issues.
    • CARB compliance: Colorado Toyota Tuning offers a $50 update charge for SEMA-CE compliance for OTT tunes done before January 1, 2024.
    In summary:

    • An OTT tune may not automatically void a Toyota warranty, as long as the modification does not directly cause a problem.
    • Dealers would need to prove a causal link between the OTT tune and the warranty claim.
    • Practical experience suggests that many users have had OTT tunes without issues with their warranty.
    • Tuning companies do not guarantee warranty compliance, but some have reported positive experiences with customers having their trucks serviced at dealerships without issues.
It’s essential to note that individual experiences may vary, and warranty claims are ultimately determined by Toyota’s warranty policies and the dealer’s assessment. If you’re considering an OTT tune, consult with the tuner and review Toyota’s warranty terms to understand the potential implications.

This. No tune or add-on can improve throttle response because physics exists. All they can do is increase pedal sensitivity and change shift points so unless the latter is your problem, just push the fucking thing harder and save yourself the money.

And in regards to warranty and knowing how these tunes work to skirt emissions issues, making the transmission shift less is actually good for the transmission, even if it means mildly higher RPMs. I'm the first person to tell you how a dealership will fuck you but that's a hard fight to win for them in arbitration when all it's doing is remapping shift points and not toying with pressures or lockup or anything.

They don't exist on either side of the border. The only way to get a manual and long bed is AC offroad in Canada or Sport in US. Why only one trim for each is a head scratcher, but either way you'll do it at the expense of two doors. for me the logic was I use a the manual every time I drive, the same can't be said for the truck bed so I make the shortbed work.

yeah, this guy had a GREAT amount of success with his mini cooper dealer and unrelated modifications...

you can't make a dealer prove anything. they say they won't work on it, that's it. case closed. the above link is a perfect example of that. it's not a matter of what can be proven, it's about the leverage one party has over the other. and dealers/mfg's have far more finances and leverage than any individual citizens, even those that can afford to have lawyers on retainer...

once a vehicle is modified from it's factory condition, it's a roll of the dice if any warranty or tsb coverage will be denied. whether you're lucky enough to get one past a corporation is entirely based on one's own risk assesment.

OP, if you like manual transmissions, ETC, s-mode, and tunes combined with automatic transmission will never satisfy you. They are all just band-aides for root problem.

That aside, when you say "throttle delay" do you mean the delay required for the automatic transmission to down shift after you punch the throttle? If so, there's not much you can do about that other than signaling to it ahead of time that you want a lower gear. This can be done by blipping the throttle or using s-mode. S-mode is not really intended for this purpose though. Also, ETC will tend to keep the transmission in a lower gear such that a down shift is slightly less likely to be necessary to get the torque you want. If you are used to a manual, driving an auto takes some practice.
