    Hello all,

Good to be here. I've been lurking a lot since the 2016 Tacomas starting trickling out into the showrooms. I've had a smattering of European and American cars and trucks over the last 24 years I've been driving, but never a Toyota.

I've had 2 1974 Opel Mantas, a 1969 Cougar, 2 Rangers (91 and 03), a F150 (95), a 2000 VW Golf TDI (diesel), a 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata, and my current ride is a 2002 BMW 525it (wagon) that I use for a dad-mobile (2.5 year old boy) which gets pressed into truck service as needed.

When I was growing up, Dad had a 82 Toyota 4x4 and, later, a 91 Toyota 4x4, both bought new. In fact, I learned how to drive a M/T on the 82. I wish I had that truck now.

I shopped for a 2004-06 Tundra before buying the wagon while Mrs Vavet was pregnant, but just couldn't find one in decent shape for what I thought was reasonable money.

The GM twins really caught my eye when they came out, but knowing the Tacoma was coming, and also buying a new house has put any decisions on hold. We finally moved into the new house last month, so there's a possibility I could make a move on a new/used truck now.

Anyway...good to be here. Thanks for having me.
    see ya 'round!
