    Hi,

I am a longtime lurker and just purchased a 2008 Toyota 4Runner. My wife and I have owned over 60 different cars, trucks, trailers, boats and motorcycles in the last 24 years.

I have been driving full size Ford trucks for the the last 12 years. Two F-250s (2006, 2010) and four F-150s (1995, 2004, 2008, 2013) The last being a 2013 crewcab ecoboost lariat.

We just got rid of our 2011 travel trailer and 2013 Lariat. I pull a 16ft double axle landscape trailer and a 18ft center console boat. The 4Runner does a fair job of towing not as good as the Ecoboost F150 but not bad for a 7 year old SUV.

I want to pick up a used Tacoma 2wd beater or get rid of the wifes Kia Optima and get a newer 2015 double cab. I thought I could do without a truck and just use the trailer but, I miss the ability to haul oversized items, trash without having to hook up the trailer. Living in MD I have seen lots of rusted frames from PA and states further north.

I have seen a couple of 2000-2004 2wd Tacoma trucks that are in the 4k-7k price range. The 2005+ 2wd trucks are more expensive still.

Most 1st gen 4wd Tacoma are frame rotten if not taken care of.
