Long time lurker, first time poster....I have owned several Tacoma's over the years, I currently own from new, a White 2011 Base SCLB 2.7L Auto 4x4, ARE MX cap and bedrug, BAM bed boards and sliders, which makes for a comfy sleeping area when out camping.

I picked up a new Lunar Rock 2023 DCLB TRD OR three weeks ago(Am keeping the 2011), enjoying this a lot, the extra power of the 6 cylinder, and all of the creature comforts that I have lived without in my Base Tacoma for quite sometime now, is an added relief. Have ordered an ARE MX cap for it, along with bedrug, and will just use the BAM pieces from my older truck when camping/travelling.

I am getting close to retirement, and me and my wife want to plan some long excursions out west next year. Looking forward to some mild trail running, and camping some BLM land, and just relaxing and enjoying some parts of the country that I have yet to see and enjoy.

As a long time lurker, I have enjoyed reading about many of the adventures from members on here. Plus, it has always been a good source of information, whether it be fixes, new products, etc. Thanks for that all! Anyway, while not much of a poster, will certainly be lurking a bit more!

    Tim

Thanks, lets hope it will be as reliable as the 2011! I tend to keep my vehicles around a while!

Welcome! Great looking trucks! I wish I still had my first Taco- a '99 PreRunner. Like you, however, I enjoy the creature comforts my '20 has.

I'm on the Northside of Indy. I'll give you a wave if I see either of them!

Thanks!I am on the west side of Indy. I always liked the Pre-Runner, really a good looking truck, and not needing 4wd all the time unless you go out on trails often, was the perfect truck.

It was a real stretch for me to even think about a new truck, let alone the one I bought, as the 2011 only has about 117000 miles on it and is in great shape. This was probably my best time to get one as retirement is on my radar this next year coming. Regardless, I really am enjoying all the goodies on this one, think I’ve earned it-at least that is what I tell myself!

Enjoy your 2020, great truck I am sure!

Finally got the ARE MX shell installed. Looking forward to spring weather, and a few more updates.

Insane silly money. I got interior headliner, drop down slider, roof rails, double rear door locks, plus full Bedrug. With tax and install, a cool $4022. Gulp. I bought the same exact shell for my 2011 Taco roughly five years ago and it was about half that. It is what it is. I’ve gotten a lot of use out of it and the mid-rise hump adds so much more headroom for camping, plus it seems to make the longer than a bus DCLB seem less long, and better proportioned in my eye. Hopefully this truck will give me as good of a run as my 2011 still does!

Glad it worked out in your case. I got a quote for a new one that was spec'd similarly to the one I have and they wanted 3700 total. The prices for new are simply too much for me to justify. Maybe when I'm rich lol
