So a little over a year ago I saved up enough money to buy a second vehicle (behind my daily, a 02 Camry). After 6 months of searching on craigslist in my area here in the Rio Grande Valley, TEXAS i finally found THE perfect Taco (pictured below).

Shes a 98 2.7L, 4x4, 174K miles, one owner DREAM! This picture was taken about a month later when i finally took her off the pavement to shoot some skeet at a buddy's property. Life was going great, until literally one week from this purchase I found this bad b*tch for sale about 2 miles away from my house. IMG_7287.jpg

She was STUPID cheap and i just HAD to get her. So i asked my brother to spot me half and just like that i went from no tacos to a double tacoma owner in one week lol this one is a 96, V6, 4x4, manual. this one was not in as good condition as the red one. the previous owner has a lot of crap wiring for those lights you see and for underbody light i never got working so i ripped them out. Also had signs of a blow gasket as white smoke appeared after running it for over a minute. now you ask, "Damaso why would u buy a truck in such crappy conditions?" well it was 1.5K and all i asked was "Does it run?" the guy said "sure" and i said "ill take it" it literally happened that fast, i didnt even test drive it first :/ i guess i came too fast lol point is i took the engine out and replaced all the gasklets and seals and put her back together and now shes running great!IMG_7349.jpg
This pic was from that day i put the engine back on and ran it around like that just to check it real quick lol point is shes running like new now with new gaskets, seals, water pump, clutch, flywheel, spark plugs and wires, alternator and battery. looking forward to reading all the info in this awesome page and community and start upgrading "Blue" real quick. Red is gonna stay nice and stock for now lol any suggestions on a first mod? Thanks.
