Howdy everyone! I've been a lurker here for awhile now. I've been wanting a Tacoma for several years, which this will also be my first new vehicle. (Well the one I bought was a fleet vehicle, and it has a whopping 36 miles on it, so it isn't brand new I guess).

My father owns a 2015 SR 4cyl, and I really like that truck. I definitely wanted the 6cyl though. The 4cyl is fine until you get to about 75mph, then you really have to put the gas down to make it go.

On a whim last Friday, I decided to go up to the local Toyota dealer, just to "look around". I actually wanted to see if they could find me a TRD Pro, I didn't realize that like the Ford Raptor, dealers were only allocated so many.(1 I think for the TRD Pro). I was bummed out about that, but decided to test drive a couple of TRD off roads. I found one I liked ok, it had the technology package on it. It didn't have the wheels I wanted, or the predator sidesteps, or the grill. Sunroofs/Moonroofs are cool, and the warning system in the mirrors was neat, but to put all that stuff I wanted on, would have been a lot extra.

On the way back from the test drive, I seen a TRD off road sitting away from the other tacomas. It had almost everything I wanted . It is black, and is going to be a pain to keep clean, but I think it's beautiful. I ended up adding the TRD cat back exhaust, the TRD performance air intake system, and the skid plate. Those parts should come in this week.

I'm picking the truck up on Wednesday, I'm really excited. I was at the dealership for 5 hours plus, and I know it has a leveling kit on it, but not sure about a lift. (This is sort of driving me crazy, it was a $37k TRD off-road, they did $4500 of upgrades as it sits, so I'm trying to do the math of grill, sidesteps, windows, wheeels, leveling package, to figure if there is a lift). I was wanting the guy to give me something with everything on the truck, but he never did, we ended up leaving the dealership almost a half hour after they closed.

I'll have a lot of questions for you, and will appreciate any input. I spent more than I wanted, but I'm happy with my payments. Right now my first upgrade is going to be seatcovers, as I work at a Cement plant and get very dirty/drenched and sweat. (It's between Wet Okole and Clazzio, leaning Wet Okole do to the sweat factor).

Here's a couple pictures of it, I know it's cheesy and some may find it suspect, as these pics are from the dealership, but it's all I have until I pick her up Wednesday. I'll have a lot more then.

    Have a nice day-

    Dave

There's a possibility yourself being on this forum that those upgrades that you've chose to purchase will eventually come off of your truck for better quality through the vendors who are on the forum as well as TW members guiding you in a better direction.

Congrats though and welcome to TW!

Yes, I'm sure you're probably right! Lol. It was one of those things, I kind of fell in love with the truck when I seen it.(even though I told myself I would never buy a black truck). I'll have to wait and see when I get the paperwork, what the actual upgrades already on the truck were, and how much they stuck it to me, if they did.

Yes, I'm already finding that out. To be fair to the salesman, the upgrades I added were all on me. I had a price I felt comfortable with on my payments, and when he came back and it was lower than I expected by a fair amount, I decided to add the exhaust, intake, and skid plate, while I could get it financed. At least I didn't add the throttle body spacer. :)

It also came with the floor mat and sill protector package, I'm already thinking I should of maybe just got weathertech. These things I will find out more on Wednesday.

It's great to be here though, especially with a bunch of people that are extremely knowledgeable, I myself am not very mechanically inclined, so forgive me if I ever ask a really stupid question.

Also thanks for the very warm welcome.

    Dave
