Hey everybody! After years of saying "dang I wish I had a truck", I finally bit the bullet and got one. Coming from a lowered coupe that felt like it was riding on 2x4s I can now go over speedbumps without looking in the rearview mirror for my oil pan .

I was trying to hold out for the 24 Taco and even had a colorado/canyon stint but the community behind these trucks and the uncertainty of the new models brought me back to ol'faithful.

I picked up a slightly used 22 TRD OR DCSB that was a service loaner at a local dealership last Thursday and have already started the tall task of planning out what I want this truck to be.

I'm planning to build this truck for the weekend warrior type. I'm interested in getting into a little camping (not hardcore overlanding - a weekend at most), some light to mild off-roading, and still preserving enough everyday functionality to support using the truck for DIY stuff around the house. I'm big into woodworking so having a truck is game changing. I'm trying to abstain myself from splurging on mods for at least a few months so I can enjoy the truck in its stock form but time will tell haha!

Anyways, just wanted to say hello to everyone and I'm excited to chat with you all on the wonders of the almighty Taco.

I'm in the Mooresville/Charlotte area. Been down here about 4 years, and originally from Asheville.

Oh sweet! I see a lot of Tacos rolling around so its highly likely we've crossed paths. Now that I have one I can pick them out a mile away haha. If you see a midnight grey rolling south down hwy 21 with a sketchy temp tag on it, give me a wave! I'm pretty incognito right now other than having a temp tag that the dealer wrote the wrong date on and scribbled out instead of printing a new one lol.

Yep, I see them everywhere. Pretty low key myself. But here’s a pic. Might need to meetup sometime.

    Welcome!

I also come from lowered cars, so whenever I hit bad potholes and bumps I laugh on how much better my truck took it lol.

And yes best to keep it stock first and find out what you need.

Good move passing on the 2024.... in a few years it 'may' pan-out to be a good thing but I wouldn't
want to be some of the first 'field-testing' that thing. The 3rd Gens are proven -

    You're gonna love that truck...

Good luck and enjoy the new ride! I would suggest you start going on some of those weekend outings and off-road trips and see what you need before you start shelling out a lot of $$ on mods. These truck are very capable as is, and it gets expensive to re-do mods because you did it too early and picked the wrong one. Oh, and by the way, where's the pics? lol

Bought mine this past April. Well taken care of lease turn in. I love this truck! As you read through posts here you will find some quirks with the truck but nothing that bothers me in the least. Like others have pointed out study how you use the truck and plan your mods out. There are vendors on the site and can offer discounts for items you find you need.
