i put a ton of miles on for work. are the afe's reuseable?

 

have any of you removed the secondary charcoal filter?

 

yes they are another good deal is the xdi intake to.

i did in mine felt like it idled better but no increase what so ever. if you got a 4 banger i guess it makes a dif.

Also, my uncle was a millwright...he retired last friday.


As for filters, I personally have a K&N. I was going to buy a AFE Pro Dry S drop in filter, but when I opened up my air box to see if it needed replace, I found a K&N, so I didn't get the AFE.

The nice thing about the AFE Pro Dry S is that it's a dry filter, ie to clean it you can just wash it out. There is no oiling or anything like you have to do with a K&N.

Secondary filter was my first mod. No noticble difference whatso ever but it was free and the first step in this addiction. I use the AFE pro dry s. Same as K&N as far as I can tell but you dont have to oil it. Gained 1 mpg on average with this filter.
