Hi everyone, my name is Drew and today I got my first Tacoma. My hobby/side business is rebuilding pinball machines and arcade games from the 80s and I used to have a 1998 Mountaineer I would haul them with. Just after 300K miles on that, the differential gave up and it wasnt worth fixing. I got a 2013 Ford F150 XLT EcoBoost and absolutely HATED it. Constantly in the shop, horrible ride quality, horrible gas mileage. I traded it in and got a 2013 Honda Fit and was able to use the truck's value to pay off this Honda and put cash back in my pocket. It was a happy ending, but truth be told I couldnt haul coin op machines with this car very well, so I had been on the lookout for a second vehicle (technically third if you count my '87 Corvette) and I knew I wanted a Tacoma as my pinball machine hauler.

Well today was finally that day. I was able to snag this 2000 Tacoma 2.4l automatic for a generous $900, camper shell included even! It does have 350k on the clock but still runs fine! No rust, tiny fixable oil leak somewhere in the front, and an intermittent P0171 code that I feel I can address relatively easily given the research I have done so far. But otherwise the truck drives great and I think this is the beginning of a beautiful ownership. I think with the knowledge I can gain from everyone here, that this truck will still suit me well for a very long time.

Welcome aboard!!! Sell the camper shell for $900 and you've got yourself a free truck :D

Also, you mentioned you haul "coin-op machines" around? Even more reason to sell the shell (unless it's for security reasons, then keep it).
