HI everyone! I've been lurking for a while and decided to join TW. I bought a 2012 dual cab short bed Tacoma TRD Sport in August 2014 mainly for camping and offroading. No mods yet but hope to add a topper or pack rack for more storage and hopefully some sliders.

I hope to learn as much as possible from you all.

    Gary

    Hi Gary,

I'm looking at a DCSB right now for similar uses as you. Did you plan on using the bed as a camper or just as storage. I've read some people have issues using a SB as a camper. Have you camped with it yet? (The one I'm looking at has a bed cap.)

    Thanks

Mainly for storage. I tent camp most of the time. If you want to sleep in the bed you might want to consider a long bed. I'm only 5'-6" but the bed is too short. I also find some gear is too long for the bed. My EZ up is slightly longer and might need to go on a rack if I get a topper.

Let me know what you decide. Good luck

Just drop the tailgate and have plenty of length for sleeping back there, under the stars but off the ground!
