Hello Everyone - Just joined this forum in an effort to seek advise on which Tacoma should i buy. My usecase is very different.

I will be using the truck to visit local motorcycle trackdays with 2 motorcycles on the truck bed. (1200lb) .. Other stuff like gas cans, stands, etc etc another 300lb. I should be able to tow a trailer (400lb) with 2 motorcycles on it (1200lb).

The truck will not be used for commute, mostly the trip as mentioned above. No offroad duty.

I am torn between purchasing the new 2016 I4 auto vs the < 2015 I4 manual. The 2016 V6 has a redesigned engine and similar fuel economy, hence the questionable engine longevity.

Access Cab is fine with me, but would defnitely need a long bed. The new one comes with 6.1ft option only though. Price and mileage are my biggest factors (hence i was choosing the base base model I4 2WD manual).

What would you guys suggest? Should i look into the < 2015 I4 manual ? Anything to rave about the 2016 other than cosmetics? OR just move up to the 2016 V6.

Thanks for your input. Hope to contribute more to the forum once i get to own one.

Since price is a factor, why not buy used?

I'd say test drive the ones you're considering, it comes down to preference.

Used is an option if i will be buying < 2015. Reason i was looking at 2016 was 1. price was decent, 2. .99% from Penfed.
