Mr. Marv, is there a huge differ (except the price) between the JL 13TW5 and a Pioneer 12 shallow subwoofer . Would I be subsituting to much quality sound if I go with the pioneer 12" or even the pioneer 10" since space is an issue. I own a Taco 08 doublecab. Also what components would you recomend. Jl audio or Jbl audio.....Once i make my decision i would like to order a box from you for my Taco. From what i see you are extremely good and are very familiar with the Tacos. I appreciate it much.

    Pete

Hey Pete..IMO the Pioneer shallow mounts are nice sounding for what they cost however I think the 13TW5 is in a league of it's own compared to any other shallow mounts I have used (and MANY other standard basket subs) so price aside I would definitely go with the JL. :) As far as the components go I am a fan of buying the "best" speakers that fit within your budget since they are in fact what actually make the sound! I have not used any JBL stuff in a while so I couldn't compare those with the JL stuff but I do like most of the upper lines of JL. Now for my shameless plug , if you are looking for superb SQ at what I consider a very good price compared to others in this league you may consider looking into the Hybrid Audio line I now carry. I have had nothing but great reviews from the guys here who bought them in my last group buy (I may have another one soon) and you can also find some good reviews online.

Thanks for your advice. I am intrested in those hybrid audio. If you say they are good then they have to be. Let me know if you do get a new shipment. Again thanks. Oh i think im going for the pioneer 12" shallow. The jl i bet are awsome but a bit pricey.

No problem :) and the 10" (or a pair) may be a better choice than the 12" as the enclosure would need to be built a bit deeper which would in turn cause the sub to be right up against the back of the seat (unless you didn't mind removing the plastic from the back of the seat).

Almost forgot, the new version of Pioneer shallow mount subs are available in a single 2 ohm or single 4 ohm voice coil which allows more flexibility in amp choice. :)
