Because I don't own a Tacoma...yet. I currently have a Dodge Durango Hemi 4x2. I have had it for 5+ years and when I got it, gas was less than $3/gallon, I liked the Durango style and switched from a Dakota pickup for family size. Now, I'm feeling very envious of all your rides!

    I'd like a Tacoma 4x4 with a V6, 2nd or 3rd Gen.

I'm a member of my County Search and Rescue Mountaineering team and although I'm a ground pounder (Hiker), I am realizing at times that getting to the rally point can be challenging in a 4x2. I also want a truck again for the room for my SAR gear.

I'll be a semi-lurker unless I can contribute, but this is a great forum. I love the pics, excitement, ingenuity, and politeness of the members. Keep up the great work and thanks for having me.

One question though: I see many newer 4x4 Tacoma's for sale at a reasonable price with 80-110k miles on them. That seems HIGH miles to me, but is that HIGH for a Toyota? It's all relative I suppose!

80k wouldn't really scare me, but look close at the prices of new trucks before you buy used. It may be worth the few extra bucks a month to get a new one.
As you have seen they hold their resale pretty good.
