The lack of feel makes it very hard for newbie learning as there is no indication from the pedal that the clutch is biting. On cars with less boost in the clutch pedal you feel the slight vibration from the pedal first before the engine's changing tone or the car moving.

I switched tactic instead of focusing on 1st and 2nd gear I just have them drive in a big lot in 2nd, 3rd, 4th then back down. Shifting between 2nd, 3rd and 4th when there is some speed is smoother and helped them develop muscle memory for the clutch pedal action.

Their left feet never had to work when driving before so it was quite a shock.

My thought is you don’t need to find the “friction point” with the accumulator on there. Or at least it’s a huge dulled area in the pedal, you can basically just release the clutch and not stall. But I come from old VW clutches and new VW clutches, diesel and gti. My viewpoint is probably a little different. Shifting is second nature to me, so I don’t really think about the left foot stagnant thing. I had to learn this transmission though.
