Hello everyone. I've been lurking for awhile and reading all the great tips and tricks. My first major off-roading experience came last summer in my 2016 Toyota Camry. Yes, Camry. :)
(Don't try this at home but to it's credit, it never once got stuck!)
My mom, my sister, my niece and I took a vacation to the Grand Canyon and were just taking life easy and exploring. We saw an interesting sounding place on a brochure and I punched it into the GPS and we soon found ourselves on the worst road/deer trail I've ever been on. With nowhere to turn around. I had no choice but to go forward. After about 10 miles and $20,000 worth of damage I finally found a wide enough spot. I think it was about then that I started wanting a truck. (See below)
I have to take a minute to highly recommend Geico as an insurance provider. They paid to get it back to like new condition without batting an eye. And even gave me an extra month of a rental car because it took so long. Anyway, that's how I became a first-time truck owner and I'll never go back. I love my new toy.

I failed to mention that it was 20 miles down this road before it got obviously ugly. I didn't want to try backing 20 miles with a mountain on one side and a 60 foot drop on the other :)
