Hello Tacoma World! I'm pretty excited to be here finally.

I started with a BMW 330i (E90), I went on a Jeep tour in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado, the feeling of being in the mountains changed my life and my perspective. I immediately came back and bought a brand new 2014 2 door Jeep Wrangler Rubicon as I wanted to get out to remote places and travel more.

After spending way too much money on it building the Jeep as your typical rock crawler, I came to the realization that I'm not a rock crawler, at all. That was my bad. Plus, the Jeep was a TERRIBLE highway vehicle for me. To get to the trails you first have to put some miles on the highway.

Shortly after, I started looking at Toyota as an overloading platform, so I traded the 2014 Wrangler and bought a 2015 Toyota 4Runner Trail. It was hands down a much better platform for my girl and I. However, when I bought it I had already had my eyes on the 3rd Gen Tacoma, but didn't have the discipline and patience to wait on the new Taco. After a year of ownership and 20K road trip miles to Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas we thought it was time for a truck bed for paddle boards, canoes, a dog, extra fuel, and a roof top tent.

By chance, our local Toyota dealership had a brand new 4x4 TRD Off Road. They gave me more money for the 4Runner than what I originally bought it for new and I had positive equity already in it. They cashed out my extended warranty I had with the 4Runner and used that towards the final price of the new Taco. So, with the positive equity and cashing out of my extended warranty, I drove off the lot with my new Tacoma and a monthly savings of $150/month over the 4Runner. I was pretty happy.
