Hello to all on TW, new Tacoma owner here though I have been lurking on the site for sometime and finally decided to register and introduce myself...

My name is Jon, 29, former military (Army, 11B, 5 years), married for 5 years and moved out to Oregon (Portland area). I recently just traded in my 2011 Jeep Rubicon JKU that I won while overseas 3 weeks ago for a 2008 Tacoma DC TRD Sport (Alittle backwards I know), but i've definately been enjoying the truck so far. As of right now, its bone stock (minus the POS wheels that came with it) but have plans for mods in the future (lift, wheels, tires, lights, etc.) Anyways, my wife was a 1st Gen Tacoma owner and she loved her truck till the day she sold it (tells me how she hates that she sold it probably everyday). Here are a few pics..

What I traded in for my 08 Tacoma: 2011 Jeep Rubicon JKU

What I got: 2008 Toyota Tacoma DC SB TRD Sport SR5

    Welcome to TW
Great choice on getting rid of the Jeep. Youll love modding your Tacoma. The more you are on TW the thinner your wallet gets from mods.
What does your hot wife drive now and why isnt it a Tacoma or 4Runner?

    Thanks all for the welcome!

@ShadesOfGrey, I believe I've seen you before on the road, great looking taco man!

@Cogge89, Thanks man, it was fun having the Jeep while it lasted, I just think the toyotas are built far better and its always nice having a truck bed as an option. Thanks again!

@Taco721, I really like the XD Addicts, they are a sharp looking wheel and easy to clean up, just be careful with the "beadlocks", they snap off easy due to being just plastic. Thanks!

@Judd94, I agree, I loved the Jeep but the Tacoma is a far better vehicle, at least for my needs at the moment. The hot wife now drives a blacked out Mazda 3. She sold her tacoma only for gas reasons because she drives an hour to work one way. She wants to eventually get another tacoma or a 4runner though. I said to hell with MPG (though I do get slightly get better mpg with the Tacoma then the Jeep for obvious reasons). Thanks man!

Thanks for all the welcomes everyone!

@186000mps, Nice, my wife and I love the 4Runners and I'd put money down that that may be her next set of wheels. Thanks!

@cmack, I also had an 07 Silver Rubicon JKU before the black 11' above, I'll definately be owning another Jeep in the future, maybe a earlier model though. It was definately painful to see the Jeep go, especially after all the work I put into it, but so far the Tacoma has really impressed me performance wise. Can't wait to start the modding! :D

@KenLyns, haha, let me tell you how excited my wife is about modding.. especially after the Jeep... Thankfully she is a very patient and understanding woman.

@Lazylegs, I appreciate it man! My wife said the same thing, couldn't believe I traded in the Jeep, but I know she's secretly stoked to have another Tacoma in the driveway.

@IDtrucks, thanks man, the Jeep was definately a fun toy, and I will definatley get another in the future but a earlier model. The newer JKU's are nice to look at and the extra 2 doors are useful, but pretty gutless engine wise (IMO anyways). The older models with the 4.0 fair far better as far as performace. I traded the Jeep in for a tacoma due to toyotas reputation for longevity, plus after my wife sold off her tacoma, we realized the importance of having a truck bed and I thought the Tacoma was the best looking truck made aside from the Ford Raptor (which is far more then I'd like to spend). Since getting the truck, though its stock, all i've been getting is compliments and good words about its performance from strangers, and I'd have to agree so far. :)

@113tac, Thanks man! Only had it for 3 weeks and already used it for a roadtrip down to southern Oregon, bed fully loaded down, and it performed beautifully the whole trip! :D
