Hello!

Im John. Ive owned my 07 tacoma since 03/07... I just found this site (for lack of trying), and I hate myself now!! lol.... I just saw all the TSBs and realized how many issues i have and will most likely get but am way past the mileage.


I use this truck to haul toys (mini buggies, atv's street bikes, choppers, engines, tractors), and also to work hauling dirt, chips, stone, brick, and so on...

It has been super reliable minus the folded tail gate, busted off mud flaps and magical disappearing hub caps. I love the mileage, I love the versatility, and most of all, the affordability!!!


I have a K&N air filter and oil filter, synthetic oil only, and no other mods. It is an SR5 access cab, power windows and locks, CD player, fog lights, and that is mostly it... kinda bare, but again, affordable!!!

The 4.0 has some pep and Im experimenting with spark plugs now... just found out autolites are crappy, going to bosch next...

I usually get about 335mi on a tank before the light comes on (17-18 gallons usually), and im particular about my maintenance.


I am a mechanic for 13 years, but I learn more and more every day!!!!

Im a high school teacher, AAA road side supervisor on the weekends, and a bus/heavy duty mechanic after school. I have no social life, and I love tinkering with really old stuff like steam engines and hit and miss stuff if anyone knows what they are! (check me out on youtube, racemybuick is the name there too...)

The name you might wonder is from my Buick passion. I am in the process of restoring my 5th turbo regal. I have had 3 grand nationals and 2 t-types... all from 84-87. I love them, and the tacoma tows one every so often when it needs to!!!

Im in no way shape or form an expert on anything, but I know a fair share... Please feel free to educate me, it would be nice for a change!!!!
