    Hello,
    My names Justin. I started asking questions and figured I should introduce myself. I recently went on a snowboarding trip to Big Bear, California the snow sucked BTW, but my friends younger brother drove up one day and took us on some off road trails. It was awesome! So I'm pretty set on getting a Tacoma. I'd like to get a 2nd Generation, but will probably end up getting a 1st generation Tacoma and build it up a bit.
    My dad has a 2011 v6, Automatic, Double Cab, Auto LSD, TRD Sport. I like driving that thing around, but it's my dad's and a lease... My Grandpa 2005+ Tacoma that's a 4 cylinder access cab base, not really what I'm looking for. has So I'd like to buy a Tacoma for myself and turn it into a Long Travel, Daily Driver, fun truck.

    It will probably take a year to save up for a nice down payment and I'd have to go threw a dealer so I can do payments for a 2nd generation. If I get a 1st generation Tacoma I can get one this year sometime.

    The things I'd like or must have;
    TRD Off Road package
    -v6
    -4x4
    -Access Cab
    -Good Engine, Transmission, Drives Straight, no frame damage.

    Things I could care less about;
    -Automatic/Manual (The only 3 vehicles I've ever owned were manual)
    -The Color (I do like that Speedway Blue on the 2nd gens though lol)
    -Scratches, Dings and Dents wont bother me at all.
    -Miles meh. (my car has over 256k on it and counting lol)

    What I want to do to it;
    -Front Long travel kit.
    -2.5 Fox/King Coilovers for the Front
    -All Pro Rear Lift Kit 3"
    -2.0 Fox/King Shocks in the Rear
    -Wider Fenders and Bedsides.
    -Buy or make a Prerunner Bumper.
    -Buy or make some skid plates
    -Frame Sliders
    -Bump Stops
    -Limit Straps
    -Paint

    How I want to keep it;
    -Reliable Daily Driver
    -Keep it Smog Legal in California (Went threw that whole illegal smog stuff with my car and I'm over it!)
    -Keep the Bed usable (Dirt Bikes, Camping, hauling stuff, ect.)
    -Still be able to tow trailers (Jet skis, toy hauler, car trailer, ect.)

    It will be my Daily Driver, so when I take it out I wont be to crazy with it(my girlfriend said "yeah, right.") lol. The terrain will be the Big Bear trails; tight, rocky, muddy, dirt at slowish speeds. Pismo Beach, sand, dunes.

    My friends that I would be going off road with have a close to stockish 1st gen Tacoma 4 cylinder open diff RWD, Stock 2012 Tundra with a Diff Locker RWD TRD off road package maybe I duno, Stockish Suburban 4x4.

    I'm going to have fun with mine, but take care of it. Battle scars while having fun off roading, I have no problem with. It wont be a Pavement Princess I promise.

    My friends and I will be doing most of the work our self too, besides the welding. Someone in Long Beach/Torrance, California wanna teach me/us how to mig weld? lol

    Sorry for the wall of words I just want to learn as much as I can before jumping in and buying. I'm also really new to the truck world.
    I've had/have 1990 240sx coupe (my current Daily Driver),1998 Prelude SH(gone), Kawasaki KLX250SF(Street legal Supermoto =]) Rice Rockets I know, I know...

    Maybe you'll find a clean one with some of the mods already done. You could save a lot that way. Good luck.

    Yeah I've been kind of poking around craigslist, but I've always wanted to build a Prerunner for over 5 years now. I just hit 25 years old in January.
