Hello

Just signed up. Having a few issues with my 2016 tacoma with it going into limp mode with getting on the freeway every ounce in a while. Pulling a P0303 code when it does code. I only have 102,000 miles on the truck. Just installed new plugs and wires/coils thinking this would solve the problem. I cleaned the throttle body and did a complete fuel system clean with lucas complete clean. Still having the motor coding after all this when I was getting on the freeway and getting up to speed.
Took the truck to the dealer and they told me I need to have the motor pulled apart and redone ! They want to redo the valves and replace the pistons on the motor. This makes no sense!
Estimate of $9500.00.

What do you guys think ?

 

Welcome. Id check injectors. Could be some thing wrong with engine but they are just throwing darts. Did they do a pressure bleed down? Is it smoking? Using oil ? Losing coolant? Hows fuel mileage?
