New member to Tacoma World but not new to Toyota's. I have owned Toyota trucks since I bought my first new one in 1986, a standard cab 4wd. Kept that truck 9 years and still regret selling it. Since I have had a 1993 2wd standard cab, 2001 Tacoma extended cab TRD OFF ROAD, still my daily driver with 419,000 miles on a 2.7L 4cyl 5 speed, motor and all drive train components are original and untouched, and a 2018 TRD OFF ROAD I bought used in 2019 with 17,500 miles and to the day it only has around 38,000 miles. Thanks for letting me join in, hope to get a lot of good information from the group. Looking into the OTT tune for my 2018.

I use the 2001 for the daily, as many miles as it has on it I don't want it to set up for long periods of time. They seem to start falling apart when they get a lot of age and miles on them and the don't get driven regular. Plus I just like driving a stick shift, that is all I have ever driven until I got the 2018.

So true sitting isn’t good for them!
Manuals are fun but as we age auto is easier.
People like to get inch’s away and hill starts you need to be on your game!
    Welcome again enjoy your tacos!

Well me and the 2001 are both slowing down now, I'm 58 so we are growing old gracefully and together, LOL. I do like the auto in the 2018 and all of the other safety features it has compared to the 2001, but getting it tuned so it shifts like it should will be a big help. I live in coastal NC so I'm a flat lander and I drove up to Roanoke VA somewhat in the mountains a few months back and I just shifted the truck into 5th gear so it would stop hunting for a gear. Really made me want to go back to a stick shift. I'll try and get a couple pics of the 2 on here.

Thanks Steves104X4, hoping me and my 2001 have several more years left in us.

    Same age here!
    Grandkids now!
I used to spend my time tinkering on my truck!
Now we end up sitting on our days off!
Good stuff! Kids are cool but grandkids can be spoiled and then go home.

3 kids here but no grandkids yet, don't know what's going on with that. I guess they are just slow starters, lol.
