Hey y'all, I'm back! For now at least... Anyhow I got the @SDHQ OFFROAD prototype Double Cab Long Bed Sliders installed on my truck a few weeks ago. These things is completely bad-ass!! I haven't seen any other long bed sliders that protect all the way from wheel-well to wheel-well. More pictures and info to come, but here are a few for now.

I love this first picture from the @SDHQ OFFROAD Instagram page.

Nice! I'm staring to work on mine as well.

I just purchased the 2018 Cement Tacoma 4X4 OR with full tech and premium package (JBL audio system, leather package, moon roof, roof rack, tonneau cover, bedlinner, bumper step, running boards with steps and even has a GoPro mount at the passenger window)

I have a friend who is an executive at Toyota and she found me this vehicle as a Dealer Demo with only 7,000 miles on it. It was a showcase truck for their dealerships in the SOCAL area and only driven by Toyota executive from dealership to dealership for promos. When I picked it up, my rep showed me a 2016 Tacoma TRD 4X2 in white with 26,850 miles on it and they had it on the lot for sale at $36,985. Got my truck for $38K (way below MSRP, which was over $44K and they had a customer that was ready to buy it for $46,800 the day I was picking it up. The sales manager told him, "Sorry. This is sold to one of our executive's family members". The salesman who was trying to close the customer was pissed! lol

Very rare truck in this color with all the accessories on it.

Looking forward to modifying it and having that "unicorn" in SOCAL.

This was on day of delivery!

What was required to fit the 285/75r17? I assume a CMC.

If you ever do a walk around video I’ll for sure wanna see it, nice truck man! Just got me a 2018 cement SB - was the only one around my area, plan on pretty much building mine similar but I’ll probably just do stage 2 or 3 icon set up, it’ll be my DD eventually, I’ve got a Toyota Avalon currently but she’s up for sale, love the wheels though!!

Yeah, CMC is definitely needed plus a little bit of plastic trimming and the pinch weld needs to be pounded down as flat as possible.

Thanks man! I appreciate the complement! I'm actually in AZ but I grew up on SoCal so, close enough! :D I've been in a holding pattern for a little bit but getting ready to start it up again here pretty soon. It's too damn hot out right now to do anything here! Yesterday hit 119° here so there's that! lol

Thanks man! I appreciate the complement! Very cool, congrats on the new truck and welcome to TW! I love everything about my suspension setup and wheels/tires. Plans are to go with S2 secondaries so there's going to be a few changes pretty soon! I made the mistake of going on a high speed desert run with a buddy of mine a few weeks ago with S2 secondaries up front... All I can say is, there goes another $3k! lol. I might think about a walk around video when I get my suspension done.

Had Toyota flash T-SB-0062-18 to my ECU on Saturday and my truck drives so much better now. Mine was one of the earlier 2018’s so I'm not really sure if that matters or not, but the TSB update made a huge difference for me. Before, it would be a bit sluggish if I hit the gas pretty hard from a complete stop. It would almost feel like it's stalling out for a second then take off. Didn't happen all of the time but it was kinda dangerous if you're pulling out into traffic. Also, I'm not getting to 6th gear by the time I hit 45 and I don't have to hit ECT every time I get in it now. Someone said it felt like somewhere in between ECT and not ECT. I would have to agree with that 100%. So it made all the difference for me and the added bonus is that I appear to be getting better gas mileage! Before the TSB, I was getting better gas mileage in ECT because I didn't have to put my foot into the pedal as much.

Hellppy I came across your build and started reading from the beginning. Your taco is f'en bitched. I have a 2018 DCSB OR and after 7 looooooong weeks next week I'm getting my ICON stage 6, Rebound 17" rims and Toyo R/T installed. Now you see why I thought your truck was bad ass. Anyways I see you went with 700# springs. Can you tell me what the difference was that you experienced? I don't plan on a winch anytime soon so I justed stayed with the 650#.

He went with 700lb springs because based on a buddy of ours and my experience these trucks coilovers should come with 700lb coils to start. These trucks have a heavier front end than the 2nd gen and with the 700 it allows you to run the coilover at almost no preload and get enough height out of it and the best ride quality. I ran the 700 on my truck for a while before I added the winch and it rode so nice with no pre load and its even nice with the preload we added for my winch, I'm sure Sean would agree.
