I am trying to install a Hellwig rear sway bar on my wifes 03 pre runner. Hellwig website and Summits website all say this is the correct kit. Other members have ran into the same issues during install. Apparently a guy ran a site called StreetTacos that made a bracket that fixed the problem of hitting the driverside shock. Does anyone have a pictures of StreetTacos mount or know how to get in contact with him?

I didn’t even know they made a rear sway bar for the taco. 5 lug maybe but 6? If you get it installed, share some pics.

Have you run into any issues yourself?

Why not take a pic of the issue, or what you think might aid in your install?

If it's a simple bracket, some of us could easily make one.

I would've assumed that as well but they do offer two different part numbers; 7670 for a 5 lug and 7671 for a 6 lug.

Though the instruction manual for both part numbers pulls up their install instructions for a 2005+ 6 lug; I say 6 lug because the black and white pics show a spring over axle setup.

In short it looks like a "clamp" style attachment is used on the axle housing, and pre-existing bolt holes in the rear frame for the mounts.

Kind of cheesy if you ask me.

Pictures of the driver side mount temp installed, nothing is tight.
    Safety inspector checking things out.
The double pipe part that is supposed to fit inside the frame doesn't. I can shorten it and mess around, but if someone has a mount already created...
For clarity I do have a 6 lug Tacoma.

Nice setup... my rig is stock and the wife never drives it off the pavement. She is a city girl and hates what she calls boonies crashing.

Good statement regarding aftermarket sway bar that use ubolt, that is cheesy.

I can only imagine the amount of torque it will produce when turning/leaning and causing the ubolt to shift and move.

Can't you relocate the frame ubolt closer to the spare tire xmember and rotate the upper 90° plate to face the opposite direction?

Yes I can, but I'm was trying to find out what the StreetTaco mount looked like or what other people have done... kind like the picture you posted.

I agree I think OP has the brackets backwards looking at the Hellwig pictures.

This sway bar is more for the cool factor !

What's the reason behind needing a rear sway bar? Why not buy a sway bar that is welded in place instead of a clamp on style that have the potential of coming loose.

Than why not buy something that is welded in place vs clamp?
