I like the shape and look of the SHOEI RF-1000 HELMET but the graphics of the middle one (black one).

Almost all my gear is black as is my Motorcycle... I'd like to get a decent brand with some bright graphics...without spending too much

I like the Shoei helmets and they fit well but I can't find one with good bright graphics

    None (for now)
Hey now HJC's arnt bad if you can find one that fits. Most will not tuck to your chin and the straps will become a pain after about a thirty minuet ride but like any helmet you need to find one that fits you. Hold on.
Here is a HJC I owned and it fit my odd head. Trust me having a face like a camel and a large crown is not something most manufacture go for.

The Shoei's are outstanding by all means and if you have $400+ to spend on one then by all means do so. Just try it on first and walk around the shop for half an hour to make sure it fits right. Then take it out for a *** test drive.

I wore a shoei rf-800 Picotte replica for years! It was unbelievable how many people complimented me on it! Wish it still fit but it would feel crazy heavy compared to my Arai Rx7rr Corsair.

HJC has been around for decades, Icon has been around for 5 years or so. I think it's the other way around. Icon is made by HJC. Either way, they're not good enough for my head. Don't skimp on gear. Get the best helmet, gloves, leather instead of spending $800 on a shitty slip-on that does NOTHING other than draw attention to yourself.

HJC makes Icon's helmets for them. They use different head forms from HJC-badged helmet so they fit a bit different (or so I hear, I'm between sizes in both). However, it's the same middle-tier quality. I have an HJC dirt helmet, so I'm not trashing, just saying.

In all fairness HJC makes helmets for A LOT of companies. I believe one of them is Thor.

Scorpion is one of the better mid-priced helmets I have ever looked at and if I were to go through a period of hitting my head often, they would be on my short-list. Suomy, Bell and AGV are also really good helmets for the money.

One way to get a great deal on a great helmet is contact rider's discount and see if they have anything on sale. They are likely a forum sponsor on some motorcycle forum where you're a member.

Not really. If there was something I had to say to you, I would have PMed you, but nothing was directed at you specifically. Just stating the typical mindset of your average sportbike owner: "No, I'll just take the cheapest helmet you have. Oh yeah, and that yoshimura exhaust. You guys take plastic, right?"

just cause a rider threw a yosh slip on or half exhaust on doesnt mean shit dude. Saves weight and shows some gain, albeit not alot once remapped there is some. People tend to build to their prefrences. I have yosh and love it. Much better than a megaphone. I agree though dont skimp on gear.
