    I wouldn’t mess with a bed extender. I haul my 300XC and two kid bikes in a short bed. If you have them strapped down right then there’s nothing to worry about.

    You could buy a sheet of 5/8 or 3/4 plywood, several 2x4s and build a slid in platform to extend bed length. Commonly used around these parts to carry long track snowmobiles. Some even have ramps stowed under platform and can be easily pulled out for loading and unloading toys. Bikes sit about 4" higher.
