I need help my 1999 Tacoma V6 SR5 driver side door actuator has frozen and I am unable to open the door. Does any one have any videos or ideas how to get it to unfreeze. I have taken off the door panel and have not been able to get it to open. I have checked it with an Ohms meter and their is no power. I have tried to force it open and it did not work. I have been working on it for almost a week now and have not had any success. Any help I would deeply appreciate it.

It should unlock with the key and open

You are in the vehicle can you not just pull the lock up ??.

if the battery is dead you still need to get in the vehicle

Did you make some one mad and they super glued your door closed ??

If you need to just remove the linkage and unlock the door .

    then get a new one

You should really post where you live someone close could help

No its not supper glued. From what I have read around the web its the actuator. Im really now on about three weeks of trying to get the door to open. I'm almost tempted to just cut the door off but would like to avoid it. I love my tacoma its the first truck I have bought myself and just want to fix it.

    Just what is happening ??

    How did this all start??

I know some of these trucks had a factory anti theft system that when tripped or malfunctions can be a royal pain

No matter what you do the door will not unlock ??

It will not even open from the inside??

You can`t move the lock button by hand ??

My electric door lock on the left side has never worked yet the door locks and unlocks with the key just fine.

You have something else going on.

If you can`t get the door open how can you be sure it has not been glued ??

Not the lock cylinder but the door it`s self.

I know it's the actuator. I'm in Tucson Arizona nether inside latch or outside will work. The passenger side door works fine. I try too open it at least an hour or two a day on the weekends until I get mad and need a beer.

Well I know what is wrong but I do not know how to get the door open. Once the door is open I'm good to go.

Pull the door panel off the door .

Disconnect what linkage you need to!!!!

move the rod that controls the lock

    unlock and open the door!!!

I could be in that truck in about 30 seconds through that door

More of a pain crawling across the seat removing the door panel

That's the problem I'm having. I have been trying that and it will not work. I was hoping to see if any one else who had this problem and how they got around it.

Have you tried removing the DS seat first? If that is possible, it would make it easier to get the panel off.

My passenger side door lock actuator has been dead for 12 years. The door still operates as a manual door just fine.

Take it to the dealer if you can not go it yourself!
Tearing off the door is NOT the solution!

Thank you for all your guys help but now it is an electrical problem lol. I have to give it up talking to salvage yards right now looking at only getting at most 500 for it. But again thank you for all your input.

If you were closer I'd buy the truck from you for $500.
