So why do the 2019s have a different fuel pump? Why is the new one failing?

Post your part # for the pump so we can compare it to mine that I posted. Let's at least try to get some good information out of this thread? :notsure:

Not specifcally talking about you because it seems you have been speaking about the same pump that failed this entire thread. But it seems some people in this thread are confused about what pumps people are speaking of and just posting about any fuel pump issue they have been having. Apparently they still don't know we have 2 types of fuel pumps for our fuel system. 1 is from the tank and the OTHER one is the HPFP (high pressure fuel pump) that pressurize fuel into the engine. To my knowledge the HPFP has had the known issues and several TSB's and even a manufacturer change to the HPFP. The fuel pump module from the tank seems to be a more rare and newer dilemma.

Please before adding "my fuel pump " please be aware of what pump you are actually referring to in our fuel system so we can gather consistent information on issues between the HPFP and the fuel pump module from the tank.

I have been providing info on the HPFP that has been replaced in mine with a manufacturer changed TSB pump. Not the pump module from tank. I have replaced several fuel pump models mounted in or on the actual gas tank in my life. Common replacement in any vehicle and anyone could get a bad one or one with shorter life.

Good new is that we actually have a part number for the HPFP and the fuel pump module from the tank. So there is some good info here now, you just have to discern about what pump people are talking about.

I was told by the dealer when I got mine fixed that Toyota is having major problems with the fuel tank pump in Tacoma's, Seinas and Highlanders (same part)....FYI.

I feel bad for the guys with the fuel pump failures. The 4 and 6 cylinder have different part numbers. Are the 4 cylinder pumps failing too?

Chirping on my 2017 has now turned into screaming from the HPFP. :( the dealer suddenly hears the noise after I’ve made note of it multiple times.

Screaming? What do you mean? Like a prolonged squeal? Interesting as this is the first time I've heard it described as a "scream".
