I'm sticking with my comment in the other thread.

Since you don't want a plate bumper or winch the only other choice is a fat girlfriend/wife to counter the spring rate. Of course you will have to get a bigger than normal big girl for yours because of the lack of aftermarket protection. Sorry bro.

Pro Comp springs are pretty stiff with a high spring rate, and then your 20" rims are just adding on to make the ride even worse

No. The dealership's service manager was the smoke blower. I pieced together my overpriced (your words) Icon parts and installed them myself. Saving some money and keeping my virginity intact as well. But we all tend to make presumptions  Regardless of how, how much or who's responsible, I knew that the Pro Comp junk was coming off of the truck. A concept that the OP should begin to embrace.

it isn't so much the quality of procomp that is giving you a stiff ride. it's the high spring rate, plain and simple. 720lbs is crazy. even with armor, that is super stiff.

Tyga said "Too much rim, make the ride to hard". I had a pro-comp never had a problem with it. Yes it is a stiff ride but i never had a bad experience with it.

Probobly that tire set up with with a high psi is contributing to the ride. I LOVE the way my truck handles with my set up. But my KM2s really make the ride less forgiving. Gotta pay to play when you want a capable set up. You are taking an already stiff truck that is truly tuned from the factory to be on the road 95% of the time to putting on a heavy duty suspsion and much heavier as well as rigid off road tires.... It's not gonna drive like your grandmamas caddy.

Whoever told you the springs were fixed and couldn't be removed was wrong. I put blue shock boots on my shocks before I had shop put the assembly together.
I've had the lift now for a few years and over 60,000 miles with no issues. NONE. After a few months the coils softened up a bit and now rides fine. Is it the nicest riding lift around, nope.. but it has held up to every task I've put it through. I also don't have 20's :).

True that, I have access to a hydraulic coil compressor that will handle some big ass coils so it’s an easy job for me. But yeah I wouldn't use some sketchy rented tool to do this job, if the tool fails it’s not going to be pretty.

If taking it to a shop I recommend watching over them to make sure all the bushings and washers go back on. Seen too many offroad shops forget the bottom bushing or just do shit wrong. I’m not of fan of trusting others with my truck which is why I try to do everything on my own or with a friend.

That would kinda scare me running that setup. I know those little clips that support the lower perch on the Bilstiens can hold up pretty good, but I have seen them fail under the strain of aftermarket coils. It wasn't a Tacoma, but a Frontier. The clip dislodged from the grove and the front end dropped and caused some damage. The ProComp coils are rated high as you know, but the coil count may be different as well so binding could be an issue. Just not sure what these coils look like when at full up travel/hiting the bumps. Anyhow just something to think about

My particular posts in this thread were of my personal experiences but thanks for your thoughts.

I still believe that the Pro Comp suspension products are junk. There's more to it then interchangeability of the front springs. Which is why I reference the sticky.

There's a reason the PC thread was stickied.. Read it and make your own choice to buy or not.. If ones use requires deteriorating shock bushings, or spot welded to the shock body spring perches that break free, then Pro Comp is what you need!

Then why do you sell Pro Comp?

I get it too. You're not a nice person. I tried to give my experiences with PC products, as the OP was looking for. And you've done nothing but be rude and insist that I've "blew my money" been "raped" "had smoke blown up my ass" "paid for overpriced coilovers" and now I'm "ignorant"? Pretty brazen assumptions wouldn't you say?

I appreciate you pointing out the my old PC coilovers were capable of interchanging springs. But to do that in such a douchbagger way makes no sense to me and frankly undermines any credibility you might have to offer on the subject.

Try being a bit more civil to make your point. Internet bullies are a dime a dozen and it looks to me like you rely on internet for business. Business you'll never get from me or those whom I know.

    Have a great Holiday season!

    enough to go over stuff
Welcome to TW. Your truck is setup like a mall crawler. I bet it looks good but a procomp lift but isnt going to feel good offroad. The shop should have asked you want you planned to do with your truck before they got you a lift and rims. You should replace the whole lift with Icons or OME. ditch the block and 20 inch rims and remember to air down to 20 or so when doing mild wheeling. More traction, less chance of flats, and a softer ride.

Goodluck and again. Welcome to TW.
