Just got a 2.7 with 55k on it out of a 2004 Tacoma to put in my 1999 Tacoma. Same motor, but right at first glance I can tell the plugs are obviously different. Any other major differences?

    Thanks!

You've noticed the obvious difference, coil-over plug on the 2004. Pretty sure that you'll need the ECM (and maybe harness) from a 2004 to get that motor to work.

My '99 has an EGR system, not sure about the '04.
IAC might not be there for '04.

No experience here, other than knowledge of my '99 2.7 (love it, don't need that extra HP).

I love mine as well. Wish I didn't have to mess with it but the original one is really acting up. Bought this one out of a wrecked truck, in the pics it looked identical and I guess is in the big scheme of things, didn't notice the coils/plugs, until I went to pick it up.
