Traveling through Alaska in my second gen. I need to pick up a couple of things from Amazon for the truck. Was hoping I could find someone kind enough where I could ship to them and come pick it up. I'll be in Anchorage in a week or two. I'm close to Fairbanks now.

Thanks in advance for any and all consideration you can give this matter. Diesel heater and some lights. My diesel heater crapped out. Tired of trying to fix it.

Post this in the regional forum for Alaska as well, that’s probably your best bet. Good luck!

The Marlin and the Blue Loon were a couple bars I used to visit. Alaska folks I found to be really nice folks. Hit up Circle Hotsprings if your up there. Say Hi to Girdwood for me if you venture down to the Anchorage area, Good Luck!

Do they have a ups store?

Can also ship to hotels if stay in one, just call ahead and ask them to hold it till you arrive.

In the two and a half months that I've been out, I only stayed in a hotel one night in Dawson City. I'm traveling with my dog and the logistics of finding a hotel have been a little bit difficult for me. Believe it or not, the Back of the truck is really comfortable. I may just call Hilton and see if they'll do something for me. Back at my old job. I use them quite a bit for accommodations. That's a good idea. Thank you!

I may also look into to see how they ship. And figure out the UPS or FedEx locations. Hope to be a lot easier if I just had an address I could ship to without any issue.

On the same vein, if you stay at a campground, ask them. Most are very accommodating up there.

A few google keywords revealed this - use USPS General Delivery Service, you simply put GENERAL DELIVERY at the top of the address (above your name) and use the post office's address as the delivery address. The Post Office will then hold your package for up to 5 business days for you to pick up.

Edit: I checked the website and not all stations offer General Delivery, but usually, at least one station in a geo area does.

That only works when you're using the US. PS as the shipper too. If Amazon ships from FedEx or from UPS, the post office charges you the full postage from the originating address. My Google Foo is pretty good. Thank you.

I stopped by the UPS store in Fairbanks and they said just ship it to their address and they won't charge. Thanks to everyone for your comments
