I'm not keen on tire sizes, so I'm not the best to ask...hopefully someone else here knows more about that. I've heard you can make 35's work but it will involve trimming and cutting. 33's might be more practical, even then there might be some trimming to be done. The wheel wells on our trucks are only so big, and a lift only frees up so much of that space.

6" lift is no good if you have a 4x4. It's gonna ruin it. If you got some money go with King,Icon, or Fox. You won't be disappointed.

33" tires for sure. Get the cab mount chop and trim a little plastic.

I've got an Old Man Emu 3" lift. I like it, but in hindsight I wish I'd gone Fox or Icon in the beginning and just busted the wallet. Everytime I see another Taco with Icons it just seems to have a nicer stance. And those guys fly over rough terrain like they're driving Cadillacs.

Not being able to install it is one thing. But you need to have a basic understanding of what you are buying, why you are buying it and what the results should be.

If not, you'll have some salesman telling you ProComp rocks, and 6" is awesome. Oh wait, you did.

Really, no off road? Lift for looks? Even with the best components the characteristics of the vehicle will change. And on a $35k truck, surely you don't mind spending 10% or so to get it right?

Really, no off road. Just want it lifted because it feels too low, and nicer/larger tires would look better as well. I don't care about the cost either; just want to make sure it's of very high quality that is problem free.

Been looking at the Toytec Boss kit w/o UCA's for now. I think I will be allright for a year or so but will be getting the UCA's eventually.

You have fully convinced me that this is the right kit! Did you add the additional 1" option? also AAL in the rear?

If your'e clueless then you might want to educate yourself. Not a cheap shot, but if you ask three to five folks here you'll likely get some differences of opinion, so don't blindly follow somebody's suggestion . My suggestion would be to determine what you plan to do with your truck, plan a budget and get someone with experience to install your lift. All that said, it's your truck and your money...enjoy!

Like you, I'm not doing much off-road but wanted a lift/tires to improve the looks of my truck. I started reading all of the lift threads on the forum and decided on an Icon stage 3 kit. I wanted something that would ride better, was height adjustable, in the off-chance I need it, it will perform well off-road, and I didn't want to piece a kit together, I wanted something that came with everything needed for install.

The only thing I would change is my tire size. I bought 265/70/17's as I wasn't planning on lifting it as soon as I did.

most people that run a 3" lift will say 285's or 295's. You can get away with very minimal trimming with 285's but the 295's will probably require at least some fender plastic trimming and or the CMC (Cab Mount Chop)

I would also suggest the toytec lifts BOSS kit for a great ride on and off road. New UCA's is recommended, either SPC LR or Total Chaos.

sure thing!! they are gonna look sick and stand out against my almost monochromatic color scheme. I can't wait to test them out on the trails

Well after visiting a really good shop in NJ that specializes in lifts it looks like I've landed on a BDS 4" lift and Micky Thompson ATZ P2 tires, and 18 x 9 wheels. Would love to see a photo of anyone who has this set up, and your thoughts. Thanks.
