Looking to replace my passenger side interior door handle. Been looking online but doesn't seem like many have any good reviews. Any suggestions of which brands to consider? Also, which online auto parts sites would you guys recommend? My 2000 tacoma needs some love on replacing minor things, not sure which sites are reliable. Thanks!

https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/ Is what I have used for all OEM part replacements i have done on my 98 and 96, it’s the good stuff. Also as a person who purchased TWO doorman interior door handles and had them break In the exact same crappy way (both passenger and driver side) within 4 months I HIGHLY recommend paying the premium for the OEM part, seriously, save yourself the hassle of opening the door up again for another 20 years and just buy OEM.

this is for my 2004 standard cab but probably same thing. I took this grab from the McGeorge toyota site. Just get the OEM and call it a day.

I usually cross check between OEM sites, RockAuto, ebay, and Amazon. Rockauto typically has the best prices, but then shipping puts them right in line with most parts on Amazon. RockAuto shipping is real fast and we have a 5% off coupon code for Tacomaworld.

I recently picked up a set of Autex door handles off of Amazon for $7.79. I've been swapping some of the stock interior pieces with black ones, and for $8 I figured I'd give the Autex handles a try. From the front they look nearly identical, the textured plastic is a bit rougher on the Autex but that could just be lack of wear. The Autex handles also don't open as smoothly, but they could need some breaking in. The biggest difference I noticed was the inside of the handle. On the OEM it's smooth and the Autex it has this indentation.

Obviously these aren't as nice as the OEM handles and probably won't last as long, but for $8 they are functional.

There's like a corrolla or camry or something along those lines that has a metal replacement. Post below:

I've gone through a few of the cheap ones.
    OEM is lasting longer.
The root of the problem was the latch assembly. it needed lube in a bad way.

Wow! Thanks for all the replies! I saw that Autex version, but hit or miss on the reviews. Leaning more toward OEM, pay a little more, but hopefully will last awhile!

just so it's actually logged in the forums somewhere, 91 metal camry door handles can work if you swap the exterior plastic housing to one of the doorman ones. Just be careful when buying because there are alot of fake chrome ones that look similar online. The actual ones are real metal and way more sturdy
