The rep hooked me up with that 10% when I redid all the floors in the house and I was grateful for that as it removed a little bit of the sting. He just asked me if I was a vet and upon hearing an affirmative, clicked the magic button. Good lookin' out random Home Depot dude.

Oh absolutely. I’ll take it if they offer or on big ticket stuff it’ll help with taxes but by no mean will I ever expect nor demand a thing just because I served. To me it was my job. I chose that job and I did what I loved for the timeframe I did it. I will never feel entitled to any leniency or sympathy because of the life choice I MYSELF chose.

But to each their own. Some put themselves on a pedestal and some don’t

Had a dude stroll into the local VFW for chicken dinner night last month and with the straightest face ask for a veterans discount. We all laughed because we thought it was a joke but then realized that he was completely serious. "The F' outta here with that shit." Brothers that are homeless or jammed up get free food because they are family, but climb back into your Cadillac and take that crap to the Sizzler.

Hahaha I’d be rolling. Some people crack me up with that stuff. I will say, I have certain plates on my truck but it’s only so I don’t have to pay registration fees lol. Massachusetts and Uncle Sam take enough already

Hey buddy, don't stress out about this 50 post thing(I didn't even know there was one). There are a lot bigger issues in this world to worry about. Just keep posting about what interest you and you will hit 50 real quick, and later, you'll look back on this as a whole bunch of nothing. And thanks for serving.

"one bad apple spoils the bunch".

I'm not saying he's a bad person, just a bad example of a military veteran, and how NOT to act.

After working as a checkout boi at Lowe’s for a few months in college, I was in utter shock and disappointment how many people demanded a military discount (specifically this guys age group, who left the army 40 years ago) and sometimes without proof. Drove me nuts. My dad spent 20 years in the navy and doesn’t expect a damn thing.
