Hello all ive gotten some help reading older posts with people having similar issues sorry for the long post
Purchased 2018 Tacoma with 10400 miles 4 weeks ago
When I first saw the truck it was very low on fuel(9 miles till empty) the dealer filled it up to 1/4 tank I test drove it and purchased the truck
Was informed a new fuel pump was installed 4 months ago for recall( no issues before)
I filled the truck up to full and drove with no issues for just under 4 weeks
Got down to under a 1/4 tank and while driving gas pedal had no response, truck stalled luckily was right infront of my house and was able to push truck on driveway
Truck was very hard to start back Up
Had towed back to dealer, they are saying dirty gasoline
They drained gas, put in new fuel told me to pick up truck that afternoon
Get a call 1 hour later truck still has problem starting and gas petal not responding( puttering)
Tell me to come get a loaner and they need to keep truck to look longer
Dealership still saying its dirty fuel and it needs to be flushed out
I mentioned how the truck was very low on fuel when I bought it and maybe it caused damage to the fuel pump sitting ok the lot with such low fuel, but they said that would not happen

Do you all think it could be fuel? Or could it be something else?
    Thanks in advance

I don’t believe it would be bad fuel. If so, many others frequenting the same gas station would all be clamoring.

Thank you, I spoke with the attend working at the gas station he said to his knowledge no one has had an issue, but he’d ask the manager and get back to me

When you had nine miles left you really had over three gallons in the tank so no worries on the fuel pump. Could just be... Bad gas.
