Help! Alignment cam tab broke.

Got an alignment done and I was notified of this. The tab that holds alignment cam in place broke off. My right front camber is off and couldn't be aligned.

I have heard these tabs are weak and this is not unheard of, but I don't know where to go from here and I'm hoping someone here can help.

Is there another option? Or should I buy these and take them to a local 4x4 shop to get welded on?

Most of my tabs are destroyed. Your best bet would be to take those tabs you bought to a weld shop. See if they can put a little bar stock where your old tabs were. Run a bead behind them and then put those cam tabs on.

I'd say that's the weak spot of these tacos.

 

A 2023 Taco has this issue? Makes me wonder why the alignment is so far out ....

Couple of options besides total chaos. Dirt King sells same kind as total chaos. Marlin Crawler sells the frame brace kit. If I wanna buy once cry once get the JD fab lower pivot kit.

 

as lit taco said get some welded tabs on there from those companies. alignment holds insanely strong. cheaper fix would be fix that one and then put a weld bead behind the rest of the tabs.

 

That ain't broke off... That clearly looks like a careless dimwit whipped that thing all over the place with an impact gun (probably attempting to tighten it using the wrong hex) and flattened everything out. Then got rid of you by simply saying "Oh, it just broke off". They should've fixed that without charge, although I'm not sure if I'd want them touching my truck anymore if they did that to mine... I'd suggest write that place off for good and get one of the options above welded on.

Not a bad idea to reinforce that area anyway if you go offroad a lot.

 

It's a 2 step process for the beef and to never need an alignment again.

First step is new tabs many companies have a set. Dirt King & Total Chaos for the tabs. 2nd step is the cam eliminators. I like the 333 Fab the best, but there are many companies that sell kits to lock in the cams. I have not needed an alignment in 2 years with a bunch of wheeling. Before this set up I needed an alignment after every trail ride. These installs have saved me a ton of money on alignments.

Firestone flattened my tabs. Got the TC kit. They need to be welded on. I tried to "bend" the original tabs back. Bitched them up, ended with replacing.

 

F Firestone! Those dumb dumbs couldn't do an alignment if their lives depended on it. I gave them a shot when I first got my truck. They had a lifetime alignment deal going on back then and I thought sweet, lets do this. I went to 3 different locations and none of them could do it correctly. I went back to the first after the whole debacle and asked for my money back. Oddly enough, the manager gave it to me without any hesitation. Then I found a shop who knows what they are doing.

Firestone are one of the reasons I decided to become a tech. Cuz I was tired of paying incompetent shops to screw up my stuff.

 

This forum always has me spending $. Marlins kit looks beefiest, does it clear skids?(I will find out soon and report back)

 

I had my 17’s tabs welded and they were great afterwards. Held alignment great.

This looks perfect. If I have alignment issues, I’m going this route.

I think I'm going to go with the Total Chaos brackets.

Does anyone have a ballpark figure for what a shop might charge for the install? Local shops are usually around $120 an hour.
