@gearcruncher Since when? Check engine lights should pick up engine and transmission dtc's.

Back in 99 the only time you get a check engine code was if you were polluting the outside air . It was mandated by OBD2 in 1996 .

@gearcruncher So I left out that I removed my my entire transmission shifter and changed the bushings bc it was so loose. While do so, I had to cut out the rubber boot for the lower ones and didn't think nothing of it. This is why my shifter and console are heating up so bad. Now I have to figure out how to insulate it back. I'm just glad I figured out why it was heating up so bad. I did the repair in the winter and didn't notice it but now Spring is here its very noticeable. Still trying to figure out how to monitor trans temp on torque pro and fusion Bluetooth apps just to see what it is, but I got my 235s on and it seems to get up hills way better and looks better.

Well then , this is good news . Much better than a transmission overheating .
Some A340 series transmissions do not have the ability of sending transmission temperature data through the OBD2 port . I hope you get lucky and have the ecm than likes communicating with the OBD2 port .
Yes , you have a transmission temp sensor inside the transmission pan .
You will have to experiment to see if you can collect data from it .
Your other option is a mechanical trans temp gauge
