I need help with the wiring of a backup cam to my head unit. I’m using the Maestro RR, TO1 harness by idatalink, and Pioneer AVH-2400-NEX.

Red & yellow composite coming out of my backup cam, Red Composite: Red 12v+ & black is ground. Yellow connected with yellow on harness. But I’ve got Brown & Yellow that I’m not sure how to connect. The wiring that came with my cheap backup cam has yellow composite (two male ends) with two red wires coming off of each end. I don’t have the brown & Yellow hooked up that came on the TO1 harness. I threw it into reverse while parked and the lights on the backup cam (it has 8 LED lights surrounding the camera) didn’t turn on so I’m not sure if it’s even getting sufficient power or if I connected my red 12v+ to the wrong cable. I’d really appreciate help because I’ve got most of the dash taken apart right now

I’m just temp splicing to see if I can get the cam working before I wire it up to the tailgate. Thank you everyone and happy new year

Red and yellow, the red is all from the cheap dashcam including the female composite that turns into red black that I have spliced up onto the harness. The yellow composite is from camera to harness, yellow turns into brown & yellow wires

Double male composite with two red wires coming off of each, maybe this is for carrying the 12v+ over the distance, black from camera would ground on metal I’m assuming. This came with the cheap backup cam

Brown & yellow not connected because I’m not sure how to connected them, I’m assuming I’d need to connect them to a composite male that goes into the head unit. The brown and yellow come off a yellow composite that is in the harness, they are the only wires coming from that yellow composite that is currently plugged into backup cam

Without trying to pretend I have total understanding of your harness situation, all I can say is that your camera is asking for power from your reverse light circuit. Whether you get that from tapping directly into a reverse light, or if that's available from your Maestro harness is not something I can answer.

For future reference, Composite is describing the video signal and not the connector type (RCA). I had a hard time sorting everything you were trying to explain because the terminology was confusing.

Thank you very much for the reply, I don’t have a great understanding of wiring so I apologize for the wrong terminology. I’ve found that the backup camera works if I tap the accessory line but the line dedicated for the camera only have 5v output so it powers the LEDs but not the camera when I’m in camera view. When using the 12v accesory line it powers it fine
