Really what your recipe boils down to is doing it right the first time.

I dont understand how people think they can throw 300 bucks at there 30,000 dollar truck and expect the ride to be the same as factory....

The true fact is! do it right the first time and dont look back!

I was a noob at this and am suffering for it now. I did a stupid 3" spacer lift thinking I was saving money and getting a good lift. Now Im spending more to fix vibes and get rid of the harsh stiff ride I have from the spacer's. Getting toytec C/O's and TC UCA's real soon! cant freaken wait!

6" procomp lift, procomp ladder bars, weston bull bar and step bars
:)Brand new 08 tocoma 600 miles. Let the factory do the lift 6” procomp, on the first test drive I felt the infamous VIBES. Bought the truck with the word that all it needed was the shims. HMMMM …no, not the correct answer. Still had the starting shutter. Next we went to pro-comp traction bars “ladder bars” which they haven’t even started making for the 08 yet. HMMMM…no helped but still had the hop in my Lt rear. Did the research and everyone says “carrier barring drop”. Back to the shop again. Almost a 3” drop on the CB and the problem is gone..yesss:)….no, just got the truck back for the 3rd time and no start shutter butt vibes around 25-30 mph really slight but annoying:mad:. These two piece drive shi**s are causing this problem. I guess .:frusty: I have lifted every vehicle I’ve owned but this is crazy. I forgot to mention that they swopt out my procomp xt for bfg kn2 to help solve this issue. So I really feel like my taco needs a solid stiff shaft now before I get one down the road. soild shaft or not? and how much are they? which is the best?

I heard some talk about rear drive shaft vibration , and dropping the center support bearing , which is GOOD , but you need to measure the angles perfectly in order to loose all vibration , weather you are excellerating or letting off the gas.(mostly at highway speeds) . I found my truck vibrated only during deceleration at highway speeds!! the center support bearing must be at a 90 degree angle to the front part of your two piece driveshaft ( both horizontal and vert..) and the double cardon joint in the center only runs properly if the rear pinion angle is within .5 plus or minus degrees at cruising speed. these angles can be measured with a 35$ digital pistal level ( measure the rear part of the drive shaft and the flange on the rear pinion ) most pinions usually tilts up about .7 degrees during full gallop. so i set my pinion and rear driveshaft angles at .1 to .2 down at rest. when i drive the rear pinion tilts up .7 and my rear cardon joint is at max .4 degrees above my rear driveshaft angle ( max is .5 ) washers can work ,but pinion shims are available for trucks with extremely bad angles as mine was after the lift.I have experienced a lot of driveshaft salesman , been to the local sHaFt ShOp :crapstorm:( waste of time) and with a lot of effort , solved the ViBrAtIoN,, once and for all !!!!!! I HOPE THIS CAN HELP SOMEONE OUT THERE THAT IS SUFFERING AS I WAS !!!!:duel:Good luck and take your time , it was a big learning experience .:mudding::mudding:
