I can still reverse my order for the
BAK BAKFlip MX4 Hard Folding Truck Bed Tonneau Cover

Ive seen too much negative evidences against getting this one, ...regardless of PRICE, what is the best and most reliable cover that is also generally anti-theft?

    OR just the best cover????
I hear the TRUXEDO (yes its soft and not theft deterrent) is likely best, I just dont know! :(

Can’t go wrong with the Bakflip Mx4. Installed it on my ‘21 and had no problems with it. No water leaks etc and I’m in WA.

I personally love the backflip revolver cover.
Allows you to utilize the entire bed, cannot be cut open or pried open from the side.
If my truck didn't come with the factory tonneau, I'd have this.
Had it on my 2016 and absolutely loved it.

    What he said...^^^

Have not seen very many bad reviews of the BakFlip. Looks good, performs well. Takes the heat ( AZ ) well so far.

Diamondback, but it's heavy, not tri-fold, and (strictly in my opinion) ugly.

It depends on your use case i guess. I wanted something bear proof (eg made of hard metal). So i went with the Retrax Pro XR so i could mount my racks on them. It is lockable at any position as well.

I put a Bakflip MX4 on my 21 long bed. No leaks if you do it right. I read all of the tips and tricks on this forum before installing and have had no regrets and no leaks.

I have the Bakflip G2 which is the same as the MX4 just a different exterior finish. Great cover, would not hesitate to do it again.

Get a folding hardcover. I am sure those listed above are great. I purchased mine but can’t remember manufacture. Had a button down and when it was cold it was terrible to snap. Get a trifold, can’t easily be slit open. Also. Easy to remove for those bigger things you need to haul or get.

That reminds me, I forgot to mention that both the Bakflip G2 and MX4 give you access to the entire truck bed without removing the cover. One of the features that made me go for it.

I have the truxedo sentry ct on my truck and like it so far. I like the fabric material instead of the vinyl looking material most have. I had a truxedo on my previous Tacoma without any issues. I’ve been happy with the brand so far. I heard a lot of reviews saying the BAK had issues with the material holding up. I feel like they all have some sort of issue. I wasn’t trying to spend 2k on a retractable one though and lose bed space as well.

I bought a used Bakflip (not sure what model) on FB Marketplace for $100. It’s a tad bit faded, scratched, and the underside is punctured (not all the way through), but it barely leaks in pouring rain. You can see the puncture in the 2nd pic. The guy gave me the drainage tube, but the amount of water that leaks goes through doesn’t justify me drilling a hole into a brand new bed. I like that I still have a functional rail system, and it’s also a breeze to remove. Simply fold it all the way towards the cab, and loosen one bolt on each side.
