Not necessarily. IMO @mh.meier (an actual slider manufacturer and vendor) had it right saying they are all pretty much the same in that regard. If it's a small car next to you then pretty much any slider will work. If it's an F350 brodozer no slider in the world will make a difference.

Sliders are made for offroad use. If door dings are the concern a set of nerfs/tube steps are a better option. Lighter, cheaper, and they stick out farther.

sliders are all great and what not, but in the end someone will still bypass them and ding your doors no matter how far they stick out. remember its not the cars you have to worry about, its the other trucks, suv and raised vehicles.

I am very happy with my All Pro Apex, I had mine made straight out so my daughter could use them as a step and the stick out plenty to prevent door dings. Also very fast to get shipped out!

That and their impressive attitude towards customer service is what made me opt for theirs above everyone else.

Actually you have to worry about 4-door cars, too. Their rear doors with wheel arch cutouts will bypass your sliders. :p

mats, flaps, and stickers. Extang solid fold 2.0. Mobtown sliders and full skids. AVS vents
I don't think mobtown sliders require any drilling, and they say
You can jack the vehicle up with them.

This thread is starting to take on the tone of some tin-foil hat wearing grannies.
Yes, if someone is a dick-bag they can ding your truck pretty much no matter how much you armor up.
But any slider or step is a great first level of defense for you. The second step (se what I did there) is risk avoidance. While not always possible, I do always try to be cognizant of picking parking spaces that the dick-bags would not use. Walk further, it's good for you. Don't try to fit in the subcompact parking spots. Avoid the people who can't park between the lines. I like to look out for people who back into their spaces, it displays a level of intent and precision that often is a hallmark of someone who is concerned for their vehicular wellbeing.

yep, I park out in the boonies to avoid that. the person just needs to realize that sliders will probably cover 80-90% of his issue but don't expect 100% coverage from dings.

You can do that with any good slider.

I can get a pic of the Mobtown slider with this angle. Might take me a day.

This isn't completely true. I did extensive research on a true bolt-on slider that could support the full weight of the truck. Mobtown came up as the only option. Every other company out there has a line in their instructions stating something like, "for full strength, drill hole and bolt. It's not completely necessary but will provide full benefits"... or something of that nature. Mobtown uses some interesting engineering and parts (beam clamps, cantilever support at the rear, etc...) to make their full bolt-on slider provide full benefits w/out having to drill extra holes. This is one of the main reasons I went with Mobtown. I didn't want to sacrifice strength due to the fact that I didn't want to drill a hole into my brand new truck's frame.

You mean like my wife's Highlander that's conveniently parked next to my truck in our garage and has a rear door that was designed to circumvent my sliders? Yup.

If you’re in So Cal, @Shmellmopwho might be able to customize sliders to stick out more if you want, he’s good at custom work - I wanted to get some bedrail hilift mounts that would work with my platform, and he went off on them (photos pending).

I got a bolt-on set of sliders from him, and he installs them as part of the deal- very good prices, too! PM him for a quote.
