We will see I’m good for the year, if it comes to it I can replace with a new air box down the road.

Yeah that barbed by threaded will work fine, just find a drill bit that is ever so slightly smaller so you can tap the threads into the plastic airbox with it.

Like how I showed in one of the pictures I posted, it may help to heat up the plastic and the fitting slightly so it threads in easier with less chance of cracking the plastic.

Depending on the state you live in, or the anal retentiveness of the technician, it could.
After installing a home-built oil/sludge catch-can on the PCV hose of my rig, it passed the first time,
but 2 years later, it failed the VISUAL inspection.

So I have everything put back together. It’s looking good. If anything looks iffy just let me know. Threaded the new nipple on with Teflon tape and a little compound and got the vacuum hose snuggled up.

    :woot:

Glad it worked out for you and you didn't have to pay out a pile for a new part or someone else to do what you could do!

Man this thread is a life saver. Spent about an hour trying to find just this. I was doing the same as the OP and -“SNAP”. Except my fix is way less pretty.. i cut the three plastic supports at the base of the broken nipple and slapped the hose back on that stub for now..

Time to make a trip to the depot and fix this permanently before it slips out...
