I say not a chance man. I would never let a man like that out. He may be sorry now but who knows how he will feel once he is out. Regret and anger are powerful feelings. Mixed with a little alcohol....he could easily be a repeat offender. Screw him he wanted to take your life....karmas a bitch!

dude that is a horrifying story. make damn sure you tell your brother to let that worthless fucking scum of the earth lay in jail and rot till the day he dies and goes straight to the deepest parts of hell. his family obviously doesnt give two squirts of piss about him either and i can see why.

 

i also think you should drop by the prison and remind this guy how much of a low life piece of shit he is and tell him have fun rotting in jail. hopefully he kills himself that night

once a nut, always a nut. all he has had to do over the last however many years is sit and plan revenge. even if it is not at the fore front of his mind, it is in there. he will snap and come after you and your family.

Dude... your brother is WAY too soft. He held him at GUNPOINT with EXPLOSIVES strapped to him, and he wants to help let him out.

Let the guy rot in prison. There are lots of people with lots of problems who don't hold guns and bombs to people to extort money. He was going to KILL you.

 

We all make mistakes in life, and we're reponsible for them. Some times those mistakes can effect our family. That guy should of though about that before he did what he did. LEAVE HIM IN PRISON.

 

Honestly he tried to harm you and your pregnant wife! That guy deserves a longer sentence! Never forget that he tried to kill you! Thats inexcusable and unacceptable! He should've asked for help rather than try to take you hostage!

So fvck that guy that tried to murder you and let him rot. He's 55 years old and he's had a life up to the point he went to jail. He fvcked up and its time for him to pay! And if he gets out, goes back to alcohol and pills, the next time he's sure as hell not going to fvck up! He's had all the time in the world to sit in jail and plot out to the "T" his next plan. You can't put your family at that much risk!

I feel those who mentioned forgiveness are right on the money. God will do what he will with him when his time is up on Earth. In the meantime, he needs serve out his time for what he did, which was no small matter in any way.

Your brother and you have every right to forgive him for what this obviously mentally disturbed man did. HOWEVER, this guy premeditated to murder him, along with you, your pregnant wife, your unborn child, your daughter, and parents. That is 7 people he was planning on murdering! And he was planning on kidnapping your FIL for extortion. I have no doubt that he would have gone through with it all.

AND he has a long history of violence, substance abuse, problem with employers, and who knows what else long before he met you. It's not like he made one small mistake that ruined his life. And he obviously has blamed everyone else for his shortcomings rather than manning up to his own bullshit.

All of this on top of kidnapping charge, breaking an entering, grand larsening (if I understood the events correctly), and probably a list of other things. Hell, I don't need to go on because you lived it AND still living with it.

For me, what stuck out the most about your post though, was that you never mentioned how the guy was remorseful or wanting to make amends for what he did to you and your family. Again, it's about what you guys "took away" from him and his family. And now he wants it back.

Personally, I'd let him rot in jail. If he ever tried to go after my family, I'd have shot him myself.

 

I tend to agree with Buzoff. You can forgive this person, but it goes beyond you and your brother. What if he were to avoid prison and kill someone else outside your family?Could you live with that? I think you can forgive him, but you have to let the legal system work the way it is supposed to. It sounds like others failed this individual before he came into your lives.......

 

You and your family are not keeping him from his family--what he did is keeping him from his family. Mental disorders can be dangerous to all concerned. The safest place for him and for your family is in prison. He may be 50, but that has no bearing on what he did. Letting him out now that he has pleny of time to plan is a bad idea. As other's have said as well, forgiveness is good, but don't let the fact that he was practically a part of your family get in the way of your own safety and that of your children. Let him remain where you are all safe from him. And where others will remain safe from him because no one knows what he is truely capable of.

 

he's a danger, leave him where he belongs. your brother may feel guilty now but how would he feel if he helped the guy get free and the psycho kills someone in your family or kills his next boss? people like that deserve what they get

The fact that you're contemplating it shows that you have a big heart. Fact of the matter is this guy wanted to cause you and your family ultimate harm which means there's a posibility of that in the future. You think he was nuts and pissed before? I wonder how all this time in jail makes him feel?

Oh, write a book and make a movie. That's a crazy story!

 

If he went to such extremes over a job firing, there's no telling what he'll do for having him sent to prison for 30+ years. I'd say leave him there.

IMHO he only wants out to finish the job. he clearly has issues that prison didn't fix. How many guys go in there and come out truly rehabilitated? I wouldn't recommend taking the risk he could come back and kill you and rape your wife. That might be a cold statement, but it's the reality of the situation.

Forgive him, but don't give him the chance to do more harm than before.
