+1. This is mine stock height and it's pretty much the same.

That truck is a great find. Like the other guys said, air down, buy a compressor, maybe more aggressive tires and traction boards....maybe get some rod holders and a CB. Good luck and enjoy

And a bumber with a winch. That and a nice set of tires can get you in and out of pretty much anything you might come across. Also basic knowledge of how to drive off road especially on sand.

Yes, good point. While we're talking traction boards, might as well throw some other recovery gear in your rig...

You don't need those fancy $200+ traction boards, there are lots of cheap/easy DIY ones, or heck, use your floor mats.

Bring a shovel, too. Just one of those Army surplus folding ones is fine...

Let's face it. Spend enough time in the sand and you WILL get stuck.

Even the professionals get stuck. From this year's Dakar rally:

There was another incident where probably a dozen or so rigs all got stuck in a bowl and could not get out. Most of them had to spend the night there.

Also always go with a buddy who has a truck, because 2 trucks is always better then 1

    Although...

2 trucks are usually the reason the phrase "hey watch this" is usually uttered as well, which usually results in broken parts or stuck trucks.
