little bit of here and a little bit of that...
So I tried to install Cali raised 0 degrees rock sliders on my Tacoma today. And sadly i did not complete it, because I couldn’t get the sliders to be flushed on my truck frame, which didn’t allow me to complete all of my bolt on with millimeters off from the screws holes/bolt but managed to screw a few bolts in.

The very first bolt (14mm) to hold the sliders in is about a millimeter off towards the back which is the source to every other bolt not matching up, I have tried my hardest to position it and worked, but the sliders just would not flush in completely.

My question is, has anyone ever installed this on your truck? And have trouble fitting / flushing these sliders on to the frame? I have a 2020 Tacoma. And have not tried to install the passenger side yet. I have followed Cali raised rock sliders YouTube install directions (very good instructions) and followed it sharp. Couldnt complete all the bolts in due to fitting/ human error? and uninstalled it. Thanks taco world. Edited post, @CaliRaisedLed

Are you tightening them down completely?? Hand tighten them all first with a bit of play. Then you can put tools on it once they’re all in. If I remember right. There’s some hardware and a couple positions that only second gens use i think

I’ll bump this post to take photos of the issues tomorrow (Monday). But quickest way to explain is the sliders just wouldn’t flush on frame. I have to be overlooking something.

Yes everything was hand tighten first, had every bolt locked on, but the top part of the sliders was centimeters/ millimeter off to flush in. Did all the wiggle and moving I could to try to flush it in.

You will probably have to use a step drill bit to make holes bigger.

I had no issues installing mine, just did it recently. The trick to lining them up is in the install instructions on their website. Line up the bottom center 2 holes first! The rest should line up easy.

Out of the instructions I got to install the 14mm black stock bolt in the center first, I think yours look different..... here’s how mine look from YouTube vid

Here’s a photo of Cali raise YouTube vid. Where he’s pointing at- the bolt hole to the left, bolts holes on mine is millimeters off, and sliders aren’t flushed in like that on the top of the frame. Want to mention again, I did not tighten up any bolts, I did a few turns (3turns) to hold in place, and did lots of wiggling to try and Line everything up and flush it. Just gonna try again tomorrow, something so easy has to be my errors, 8FA6CC8B-89BE-4D3F-B5F0-0659FC5E8ADC.jpg

I used a floor jack with a 2x6 to lift it up, that helped me line up the holes. Then while putting in the rest of the bolts I lifted with my shoulder to flush the mount to my frame .

I jut installed a set of these on my 2020. I had to bend the tab that bolts to the trans cross member to make the sliders mount flush. It was way off.

Hey, could you please show me a photo what your talking about? Also the same exact rock sliders? Do you think 2020 Tacoma’s frame is very slightly different from later years?

My fitment issue was due to shipping. My sliders arrived pretty banged up. This was for 0 degree sliders on a 2020 double cab short bed.

So I have to admit, it’s definitely human error. Got the sliders on today, and that sh$t was hard to fit the driver side. The problem was, having to screw specific bolts 1st. I know save it haters... lol. But the passenger side was A breeze. Passenger side fit flush with out a question. But the driver side I had to do a little more work. Will post photos up later and thanks @CaliRaisedLed i will continue to purchase y’all products. Phewwww

Are some of the bolts thinner? Was looking at those when I get the truck.
