Just an FYI, I've aired down to 3-5 psi in the sand on stock rims before. As long as you don't stomp on the gas or try to do donuts or something stupid like that, you'll be fine. It just depends on the terrain and the driver.

if these were my only choice, based on looks, #1, based on brand, #2

I'd definitely keep my options open, there are a lot more styles available from a quality manufacturer that are affordable. Or buy used and save! If I could find a set of used welds, that would be my first choice. I even started scouring the GM forums looking for some.

Which ones are those? Tire/Wheel Specs? I've been looking at the FN wheels for a bit, but they all looked too agressive and would stick out past the flares more than I care for. Yours look great....

Sorry, I should have added that, my bad.

It is their Six Shooters, which is a 17", tires are the stock 265s. I didn't want to spend money on an A/T set since we will be lifting eventually. They will look so much better on a truck with a set of A/T and a lift for sure!

Anything that is 8" wide and +0 offset will sit fine with the fenders, but when you start moving into the negative offset with 8" wide is when they start poking out a bit more. Something that is in the -5 to -10 range will not stick out too much, but when you start looking at -20 or greater negative offset is when it's going to really start poking out.

You really only need the additional track from negative offset if you're doing a big lift. There are formulas for this stuff, but I think the "rule of thumb" is something like every 2" of lift the track width should be widened 1" ... but you should double check, I'm just talking off the top of my head ... My whole point is that as the center of gravity goes higher up in the air the track width needs to widen so that the stability is maintained. Otherwise the vehicle can become "top heavy" and have more of a tendency to tip over.

Wider track width also helps to mount wider tires to clear the suspension, but they'll start hitting the fender and other parts of the body without modifications ...
