Help: CV Axle Won't Go In!

    Welds and Cuts and stuff
    It’s fully seated. Stop hammering on it. Button everything up, go for a drive, check for seal leaks.
    What I meant by the snap ring setting into place is: when you initially push it in by hand it should come to a point of resistance. From here sometimes you can muscle it the rest of the way, sometimes it needs a pop with a mallet. When it stops it’s good.

    CVJ sells rebuilt OEM axles with a variety of boot options. They're probably the best route to go other than getting brand new OEM ones or used OEM in good condition

    Yeah it won't hurt anything except the axle itself. Once dirt and debris gets into the boot the axle is compromised
    Not gonna hurt anything else though except make a mess

    Forever, they don't need grease dirt lubricates the joint just fine

    Super charged
    Mine has a 1/4in of play/a gap, I’m on my 3rd drivers side cv, the one that’s in now is OEM that I ordered specifically for my truck through the vin from Toyota, it’s pretty much shot right now and I replaced it a few months ago. I have a 2.5in lift with a diff drop.

    Can you pull the axle out by hand? If not, it appears to be in as far as it will go.
