Help! Day time running lights won’t turn off….

Hi everyone. My day time running lights won’t turn off…. Even when the car is turned off and the key is pulled from the ignition.

this all started after I disconnected the negative terminals on the batteries (dual battery set up) to reset my ECU. All lights and everything else works, kind of stumped on this one…. I do have an accessory/electrical board in the engine that was professionally done.

any ideas?

Easy check: Try bumping the little rubber plunger in the door jam. May be a stuck door open sensor.

Oddity check: Is your trailer harness intact? I remember an old tundra thread where they had a similar / same issue and it was related to a damaged trailer plug harness.

Next step: start pulling and reinserting relays + fuses related to the DRLs in case something is stuck open (relays)

I'll update if I can think of anything else.

 

I haven’t updated my bio but bought a first Gen.

 

I pulled the fuse for DRLs so for now they are off… neighbors were calling and knocking on the door twice a night….. so at least they’re off.
