Hmmmmmmm.....Thats all I can think of to cause a noise in that area. #1. Calipers. Something causeing then to hang up. #2. UCA/spindle bolt not torqed to 100#. #3. Possible wheels bearing damage/worn .

Alright, I am going to take it to a brake shop to have them look at it, I dont have a jack, else I would do it myself. How much can I expect to pay to have them just take a look and diagnose?

I have no idea. Most brake shops out here make a living at bending you over and shoveing everthing they can in your butt. Can you find someone that lives nearby with a jack?

I would fix the snipped wire first before I took it any shop.

First, the shop you take it to may "fix" it for you and charge you.

Second, I think it is for the speed sensor (not 100% sure; Chris4x4 thoughts?) I am not sure how the system works on this gen of taco. It could be tied into the normal braking system also.

Third, an exposed wire in that area of the truck could lead to other issues.

yeah thats kind of what I am thinking, the lack of a speed sensor on that wheel might have caused it to brake differently than intended, thus leading to this problem i am having

The vehicle speed sensor is on the tranny. However, there are wheel speed sensors that relay info to the ABS controler. the wire being disco'ed may be sending a bogus signal to the system, but I dont think it would be responsible for the clanking. It may be causeing other unseen issues, and should be addressed asap.

The default setting on the ABS is normal brakeing with no ABS assist. Your brakes will work normally, but if in a panic situation, you can lock the tires if too much brake peddle is applied.
