Help! Driving in 4 vs D

    Depends if you are on power or not. I will shift to 4th if i see a hill coming before i really have to get into it, that way its already in 4th lockup before it hits the hill, easier on the trans and its smooth.

    Workin' on it....
    That's what I use 4 for as well - better to get the revs up on the engine and get more power than to lug up the hill with the transmission in too high a gear going 35 miles an hour.

    Yeah I think mine just has a quark about it. Even with my foot off the gas in locked 5 if I go from D to 4 the truck shutters and bit...haha it doesn't like it.

    So I always make sure to give it a bit of gas to get her to unlock and then it's just fine. 208,000 miles gives them personality traits haha
