Help finding my old truck

Hey guys I'm trying to find my old truck that I sold back in 2010/11. It's a red 1995 Toyota Pickup 4cyl manual 2wd. When I sold it the truck had just hit 200k miles. Also sold the truck with a tool box and an A.R.E. Bed cap that was the same height as the cab. I can't seem to find any pictures at the moment. The reason I'm trying to find the truck is it was my uncles truck and he left it to me in his will and I was young and dumb and sold it not thinking my father would have enjoyed having it and now that he has totaled his vehicle I was thinking maybe I could find it and give it to him as a surprise. The owner I sold it too said he owned a construction company and was going to use it to travel to jobs. He drove a lifted Chevy pick up with crazy graphics on it and he was from Wallington Nj. He also had told me he had an 1984 Toyota pickup fully refurbished in South Carolina or North Carolina at a specialized shop. Now back to the truck. The mirrors were black that had to be manually adjusted. It had the vent Windows that no company makes anymore that I loved. The truck would also over heat of the AC was on too long in the summer. I had gotten into a minor accident with it bent in the bumper and broke the grille so the grille was replaced with a black plastic one. The tail lights were aftermarket and I think I have found a picture as close as possible to what I remember. There was a dent in the hood that wasn't too noticeable. And a small dent under the driver side back seat window and on that side window there was a viper alarm system sticker and a u.s.m.c. Sticker. There's and after market radio until I believe it was a kenwood. There also was a small amp behind the radios console. The driver side seat had a slit on the side as you slide in. Minimal rust was on the truck only in the bed under the think bed mat. I'm going to run threw paperwork to try and find the vin in the am so far still no luck. In the back seat on the floor was a decent sized cigarette burn from my buddy thinking his lite cigarette blew out the window on a long drive and sat on the floor in the back and burn a line on the floor on the passanger side. Other than these details I can't think of anything else to help notice it if anyone helps out. Here's some pictures to give you an idea of what it looks like that I found on Google.

you should be able to call the DMV with the vin number and have them locate it. hopefully you still have the info.

 

how did you communicate with the buyer? phone, email? still have their info? start there

 

I read online that the dmv won't give you the Info for some law that was passed in 1994.

 

It was through craigslist and then phone and I checked my emails to see if I could find it but there's nothing and I doubt I could find it on old phone bills

DMV wouldn't hand out that kind of info to just anyone

 

If you have the VIN you can check CarFax, if any work ahs been done it would give the city and state. The Carfax for my 4Runner had maintenance records and the location of the maintenance.

 

Get me the VIN and give me five minutes and I'll see what I can find out.

 

i have used this before when i bought mine... gives the most recent title owners adress some vehicle history and title status ect. ... i think it is your best bet -last time i used carfax (couple of yrs ago) it cost about 18$... i was buying the vehicle and i got a lot of info about it from carfax which was well worth the price IM

 

Well I couldn't find it the papers before I had to leave for work but I'll check again tonight to try and find it and if it comes to it I'll ask my father if he has them somewhere and try and not tip him off

Well it had two more owners and its in ny now how the hell do I find this thing

 

About 36 mins from where I live id definitely take the drive and look

 

And it looks like someone messed around with the mileage because when I sold it it was at 200k and change and had more than a 5 digit mileage
